Tom Sargent played in various tours for about five years before getting into the business side of golf.  His first job was at Carlton Oaks CC in Santee, CA.  After his playing career, he went to Yorba Linda CC as an assistant in 1977.  Sargent became the head golf professional in 1978 and stayed for 18 years before becoming the head professional at Mesa Verde CC. He retired after 23 years of professional golf service but still continues some instruction to this day.
